Control.com Announces New Director of Business Development
Automation industry veteran builds partnerships throughout the industrial
Houston, TX (September 10, 2001) - Control.com Inc., the global online
community for control professionals, today announced at ISA/2001 in Houston,
Texas, the appointment of Steve Harr as Director of Business Development. An
experienced professional with over 20 years in the industrial automation and
controls industry, Mr. Harr will be responsible for directing Control.com's
marketing and sales programs, as well as developing new opportunities for the
company's open controls services and Internet communities.
Most recently, Mr. Harr served as Industry Manager, Process Business Unit,
at Rockwell Automation where he managed the introduction of a variety of continuous
process control and batch solutions for the worldwide pulp and paper industry.
Prior to that he served as Strategic Marketing Manager, US LIAD, at ABB where
he directed the development and implementation of the company's Y2K Program
for Paper Industry Customers. In addition, Mr. Harr managed the strategic marketing
of ABB's distributed control systems to the U.S. pulp and paper industry.
Mr. Harr also held several sales and service management positions at Valmet
Mr. Harr is a recognized author in the controls industry and has been a featured
speaker at both IEEE and ISA conferences. He holds an Executive MBA from the
Duke Fuqua School of Business and has a BS degree in marketing with minors in
industrial engineering and psychology from Penn State University.
