Leading Telehealth Suppliers Team to Provide Complete Home Care Solutions
Motion Media Technology partners with Telemedicine Solutions in Healthcare
and Millennium Healthcare Solutions to improve delivery of advanced care; Live
demonstration to launch NAHC annual meeting
Las Vegas, NV (October 15, 2001) - Motion Media Technology, a world
leader in video telephony products for the health care, business, and mass markets,
today announced at the National Association of Home Care Conference that it
has partnered with Telemedicine Solutions in Healthcare and Millennium Healthcare
Solutions to develop advanced telehealth solutions for the home care industry.
The partnership between these three industry leaders allows health care providers
to deploy complete telehealth programs integrating management services, healthcare
delivery software, and videophone technology for home-bound patients. Solutions
allow major improvements in patient care while maximizing the use of professional
"This partnership supplies three critical elements for a successful telehealth
program," explains Jay Sanders, MD, Consulting Medical Director for Motion
Media Technology. "First, we provide management expertise to effectively
integrate people and processes in a cohesive delivery system that combines physical
and virtual patient visits. The next element is software that provides an expert
knowledgebase to assist nurses delivering patient care. Finally, we offer high
quality, interactive access to remote patients over regular telephone lines,
making the entire solution as easy to use as a standard phone call."
Solutions are available for a wide variety of medical conditions including congestive
heart failure, diabetes, wound care, and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary
Disease). Home care agencies can both supplement and reduce physical visits,
depending on the needs of the patient. Videophones allow face-to-face communication
while providing the ability to observe treatment progress and verify compliance
with treatment regimens. The units also support a wide variety of monitoring
devices to deliver medical data in addition to audio and video. As a result,
patients can be monitored more frequently and receive expert care without the
travel costs and lost time associated with physical visits.
Live Demo Will Open NAHC Annual Meeting
Motion Media Technology, Telemedicine Solutions in Healthcare, and Millennium
Healthcare Solutions will kick off the general session of the National Association
for Home Care (NAHC) Conference with a live demonstration. NAHC is the nation's
largest trade association representing the interests and concerns of home care
agencies, hospices, and medical equipment suppliers. The demo will highlight
the benefits of telecommunications in delivering advanced treatment of wound
care. A nurse specializing in wound care will conduct a "virtual visit"
from the stage in Las Vegas to a home-care patient in Ohio. The demo will use
the new Motion Media CareStation videophone at both ends of the connection and
will be performed by nursing staff of Community Health Professionals, Inc.,
a home health and hospice agency based in Van Wert, Ohio.
The NAHC annual meeting will be held at the Las Vegas Hilton, October 14-17,
2001. The demonstration can be seen at the beginning of the general session,
at 8:30 am on October 15, 2001. Motion Media Technology, Telemedicine Solutions
in Healthcare, and Millennium Healthcare Solutions will be exhibiting together
at the show in Booth 1126.
